| Sing Sing Music / Music Blog |  | | Welcome to Sing Sing | | Breaking out of Sing Sing this November will be the label's first digital only release by Sasso, whose last single, 'Agua Y Luz', impressed legendry DJ Norman Jay so much he decided to license it for volume seven of his 'Good Times' series of compilations.
First up is 'Free' - a sumptuous disco-boogie groover that features the wonderfully rich and mature vocal talents of Diane Charlemagne, also known for her work with Goldie, 52nd Street and Moby. Sasso starts this little number off with guitar, rhodes and not much else - building the song with layers of melody that'll keep you warm on these chilly nights!
On 'Private Lives' we find Sasso bringing that 4Heroesque vibe. Beautiful strings complement Diane's song perfectly - this groove is where Diane feels most at home - drum and bass? latin? jazz? electronic?...just good music we think.
The instrumental version of 'Free' sees Sasso directing the mighty keyboard talents of Dan Goldman aka JD73. This kid can play! Memorymoog, Minimoog, Arp Solina - a complete analogue attack - please note that no virtual synths were harmed during this mix.
'Hold On Tight' finds a more playful groove - skittering hip hop beats with a killer rhodes sample and Diane's very, very cheeky vocal. This is destined to get you movin' and groovin' - with a smile on your face!
